Soil Scout - Finland - (Sector - Agriculture) - late seed stage

this Finnish startup closed a late seed round led by the Husqvarna Group to scale their wireless soil moisture sensor. Soil Scout plans to use the funding to scale production so they can help more farmers, sports venues, and managers of green spaces around the world better manage their water resources. Unlike above-ground solutions, Soil Scout’s sensor is capable of transmitting moisture, temperature, and salinity data in near real-time from up to 2 meters below the surface, for up to 20 years, maintenance-free.  continue reading here

Ilara Health - Kenya - (Sector - Health) - seed stage

this Kenyan startup founded in 2018, based out of Nairobi, has raised $735k in seed stage funding from a group of angel investors and VC firms. Angels Esther Dyson, Nijhad Jamal, Aadil Mamujee, former director of the Africinvest Innovation Fund Selma Ribica and Shakir Merali were joined by by Chinese fund ShakaVC set up in October last year, Chandaria Capital and Villgro Kenya. Ilara's brings AI and robotics powered affordable diagnostics solution bundling the equipment and integrating the devices via a proprietary technology platform, to people across Africa. continue reading here

BASIX Sub-K - India - (Sector - Fintech) - series C

Fintech player BASIX Sub-K iTransactions Limited has raised Series C round of ₹75 crore (10 million USD) from Denmark-based Asset Management Company, Maj Invest. Hyderabad, based Sub-K plans to utilise the funds for product innovation and strengthening the IT platform to make the company a preferred fintech as well as a distribution partner for banks and financial institutions.
